CMB Impact

At CMB Impact, we believe that a child’s success is rooted not just in academics, but in their ability to understand and manage emotions, build meaningful relationships, and make responsible decisions. As a passionate educator with years of experience, we are committed to addressing the social and emotional needs of children—because these are essential for their healthy development and long-term success.

The approach is grounded in evidence-based research and guided by the widely respected CASEL framework, which centers around five core competencies: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making.

To create truly impactful change, we combine SEL with principles of culturally responsive teaching and trauma-informed care. This comprehensive approach allows schools to not only integrate SEL effectively, but also to foster a more supportive learning environment for all students.

Through customized professional development, strategic coaching, and intentional SEL implementation, we help schools improve their culture and climate—ensuring every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

At CMB Impact, we’re building stronger schools by nurturing the whole child—one relationship, one strategy, and one community at a time.

Meet the Founder

Candice Barfield is the founder and driving force behind CMB Impact, an organization committed to transforming school culture through meaningful Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies. With eight years of experience in education, Candice has worked alongside students, educators, and families in historically underserved communities — witnessing firsthand how emotional intelligence, equity, and student voice can ignite powerful change.

Candice has dedicated her career to helping schools shift from reactive discipline to restorative, relationship-centered practices. Her work is deeply rooted in the belief that when students are socially and emotionally supported, their academic success and personal growth naturally follow.

Through CMB Impact, Candice partners with schools to implement SEL programs that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with the widely respected CASEL framework. Whether she’s leading a professional development workshop, designing a school-wide SEL plan, or developing resources for families and teachers, her mission is clear: to nurture the whole child and build environments where every student feels safe, seen, and supported.

Candice is not just an educator — she’s a connector, coach, and catalyst for change. Her leadership ensures that CMB Impact isn’t just a service, but a movement that fosters belonging, emotional well-being, and positive transformation in education.
